There are a wide variety of places to stay if you're going to visit Louisville, Kentucky, but presented here are options for the budget-conscious traveler. In the interest of presenting new information, we've tried to steer clear of chains (unless they were just spectacularly cheap) in favor of showing some local options. Stays range from about $40 a night to $120 a night, in other words from "super cheap" to "pretty reasonable." Of course, just as there is a wide variety of prices here, so too are there a wide variety of amenities. Very often with hotels, you get what you pay for.
Sun Suites
Sun Suites is a chain of extended-stay hotels, but they also offer rooms for nights or weekends. You might be better off on a short trip. The kitchenettes are apparently almost completely unequipped, and some other frills that you might expect from your typical hotel stay might be missing, as well. Still, it's hard to get more affordable than this—several travel sites offer reservations here as low as $38 per night.
Value Place
The name says it all. Value Place Louisville has several things to offer, chief among them being rooms that go for $45. Of course, for that price, the overall hotel experience is going to be pretty straightforward, but as long as you're not counting on free Wi-Fi, this is a great deal. Another plus is that Value Place is close to Fort Knox and several other Louisville sights.
Breckenridge Inn
If you'd rather go local for your stay, rooms at the Breckenridge Inn can be had for under $70. Free Wi-Fi is included, as are breakfast and access to the pool. On top of that, the hotel is extremely pet-friendly, and reviewers generally hold that the Breckenridge is cleaner, warmer, and friendlier than the less-expensive chain hotels. Depending on how and where you book, you can get in for $65, which is a great deal, especially considering how much you're stepping up in the world compared to one of the extended-stay chains.
Baymont Inn & Suites Louisville East
Rooms can also be found on Louisville's east side for under $70, and if you stay during the week, it could be even less. Along with the rooms' favorable rates, guests will also find free Wi-Fi, a business center, free continental breakfast, laundry service, and pet-friendly amenities. The Baymont Inn & Suites is only a short drive away from major Louisville attractions, but, more importantly, is just across the street from major shopping at Plainview Village Center.
Suites at Louisville North
At $116 a night, the Suites at Louisville North is the most expensive hotel on the list, but it's well-appointed and locally-owned. Free Wi-Fi and breakfast are standard at this pet-friendly hotel, and they pride themselves on the spaciousness of their rooms. The area is actually a little outside of Louisville, in Jeffersonville, Indiana, but its location near the highway means that Louisville is just a quick jaunt away.
