When visiting Chicago there are all sorts of different locations available that you are going to want to take in. Whether it is on business, you are just passing through or you are on vacation with your family, you are sure to find that there just is too much to see and do in one trip. However, you are always able to have an enjoyable time with all of your different activities. These major places are not only known as being popular in Chicago, but are also popular throughout the world as well.
Navy Pier Lake Front
The Navy Pier is one of the great sights and locations in all of Chicago. Here, at the Navy Pier, it is possible to simply walk around for free, take in the shops or, if you desire, to ride on one of the many amusement park attractions. Plus, the ferris wheel is an excellent way to take in a beautiful view of not only the city, but of Lake Michigan as well.
Wrigley Field Wrigleyville
While the White Sox on the South Side won a World Series in 2005 (and the Cubs have been without any significant playoff win for decades), Wrigley Field is still one of the most important baseball stadiums in the United States. Along with Fenway Park, these two stadiums share some old school amenities and features that you just are not going to find anywhere else. It is also one of the few parks (if not the only park) that has bypassed many of the newer upgrades. This is a park that the majority of the park is exactly as it looked 100 years ago. Due to this, it has some significant history that the other, newer parks, simply are not able to reproduce.
Willis Tower Michigan Ave.
Willis Tower, formerly known and commonly referred to as the Sears Tower, is one of the tallest buildings in the United States. It also has an excellent lookout constructed to the side of the building, where you actually walk out onto plates of glass and have a view of the world under you. There are few other sights that are going to rival this, which is why it is such an important building. It is also impossible to miss the Willis Tower when coming up on Chicago, as it dominates the skyline.
Field Museum Lake Shore
There are several excellent museums located throughout the city. The art museum is another excellent display of art, but if you only have time for one museum while in Chicago, the Field Museum is your best bet. Here, you are able to enjoy a fun and exciting time going through history, and you might not even realize that you are truly learning something while in the museum. Plus, it is home to the world famous "Sue", one of the only complete T-rex skeletons in the entire world. This alone is worth stopping by and taking it in, if you have never seen Sue the dinosaur before.
