Park City Mountain is primarily known for its winter activities like skiing. It’s so well-known that even the U.S. Ski Team trains there for the Winter Olympics. The ski runs and terrain parks close during the summer months, but the Park City Mountain Resort’s fame in winter activities should not discourage you from going there in the summer. The resort remains open during summer, and there are plenty of activities you can still engage in, including summer specific attractions.
Thrill Seekers
- Alpine Slide
The resort has an Alpine Slide that is open in the summer. You can slide down the mountain on one of four luge-like tracks, each offering a different experience and its own unique thrills. With over 3000 feet of slide, the resort’s alpine slide is one of the longest slides in the world. Riders sit on a sled with wheels and use a handle for steering.
- Alpine Coaster
You can also take a ride on the Alpine Coaster, which whips you through the beautiful mountain scenery at up to 30 mph. The Alpine Coaster is also open during the winter months, as well. Trains follow the elevated track through a mile of hair pin turns, loops, and curves. Passengers ride on a car with a hand brake to control their speed.
- Zip Line
If you want even more speed, there are the zip lines. You are propelled 110 feet above the ski runs and reach speeds of 45 mph. On one set of zip lines, you can race your friends while whizzing past the trees. The Flying Eagle zip line can have two passengers at a time. This zip line is also open in the winter, when it is slightly cheaper to ride.
- Bungee Trampolines
There is the Legacy Launcher Bungee Trampolines, which are four trampolines for you to bounce on while hooked up with bungee cord safety harnesses. The extra bounce always you to do flips and tricks in the area between bounces.
Activities for Younger Children
Small kids are sure to enjoy the Adventure Zone playground and the Little Miner’s Park. The Little Miner’s Park includes a merry-go-round, a miniature train, and an airplane ride to keep them entertained. The Adventure Zone playground has four different activities. For the Whole Family
