For a single dorm bed, a person is only going to pay $30 per night, and that includes a complimentary continental breakfast. Families can enjoy their stay in one of the double rooms, and the hostel only charges $75 per night including the complimentary breakfast.

The Pacific Tradewinds Hostel is a place that is primarily for people looking to meet other people to venture out and discover the city with. At only $29.50 per night, the hostel is a great place to stay. There is even a 24 hour kitchen where visitors can prepare their meals.

The local walking tours are always a great place to start when looking for budget friendly ideas. The tours are great educational experiences, and they keep people entertained for hours.

The San Francisco Modern Art museum is a great place to go if you like art. While they charge an admission on most nights, if you were to visit on Thursday from six until nine pm, admission is absolutely free. This is a great place for people of all ages.

The Golden Gate Park Bend is a great place to visit from April through October. During those months, the park officials host concerts that are free of charge. It is a great way to enjoy some good music while relaxing in the grass. Free concerts here have been a tradition for over 100 years.

From June until mid-August, the Stern Grove Festival is perfect for free entertainment. The festival provides free concerts every Sunday. The shows generally start at 2 pm, but they do not set a time on when the show will end.

Dining

Dining comes cheap in San Francisco. Thanks to the complimentary breakfasts at most hotels, the only major meal left is dinner. If you are looking to find some free food, you should try either Palio D’Asti or Maya’s. Palio D’Asti has Happy Hour from four to seven, and they are very popular for their promotion. The restaurant offers a free large pizza, if the customer buys two drinks. Maya’s is a restaurant that gives out free Mexican finger foods on weekdays during the evenings.

In all honesty, a single person could visit San Francisco for a week and only spend $350 dollars. That price will include lodging, food and entertainment, if the person chooses the right dates to visit. That is not a bad price for a week in the marvelous city called San Francisco.
